Honouring God by honouring our bodies
As I mentioned in my welcome letter, you can receive it by subscribing here, at the bottom of the page... I have been on a journey of reflecting how I honour God in my body...
well, I can successfully say I was doing a horrendous job of it, completely violating all the aspects of what to do with my body when and how, eating whatever came to mind and heart at any time of day and night without any thought or consideration to effect and affect... needless to say I had to have a great big wake up call when I thought, well how much weight could I actually need to loose, my heart swooshing through my shoes tidal wave style when I realised it was 20kg's.
So, out with the old in with the new and all that... nothing... I spent the first month torturing myself and sticking to every letter of the law and finally came down an excruciating 9.3kg's... you guessed it, I'm still supposed to be on the program, but boy am I struggling...
Well, about that another time, for now I just popped in to tell you that while we shouldn't violate our bodies with wrong things, food, drinks and we need exercise, turns out potato is not a muscle category, mine thought it was... oh well...
I'm worried about all the natural remedies we're using and how they're affecting our spiritual lives. So, while it's important to use natural remedies, it's almost as important to know their source. If you're using natural remedies you've probably heard that Pharma from Pharmaceuticals is associated with demonology, making it important for us to move away from them as much as possible... don't worry I know they have their place, (feel free to use whatever's necessary for you, individually, I'm simply stating the source of the power used behind the medicines), and then some oils have their sources in new age religion...
Well, the excellent news is that there is a local lady who's been producing oils in the most spiritually healthy manner and she doesn't believe in new age or pharma, so she is Biblically sound and has amazing teachings that come with her oils as well.

Soup Kitchen Growth
I mentioned I would show updates now and then from the soup kitchen and I guess I've been quite bad at that, since I don't really think we should 'boast' about doing the Lord's work, it should be something we just naturally do...
Then, come to think of it, if you don't see what we're doing, perhaps, we'd have a case of out of sight out of mind... we may forget that here in the heart of our city lives a community where some people are actually in abject poverty, living below the bread line on our door step... well, that just won't do, since the word says you will know our faith by our actions, we decided to take action.
Now, you would think, with us, wealthier people being on their doorstep, we'd be the biggest contributors to the Morning Star soup kitchen, well that just is not the case. In fact the biggest contributors are the Morning Star church and congregants themselves. As seen here in this video clip, Aunty Mona, is our 82 year old chef. She cooks bi-weekly for us, prepping the day before and cooking from early in the morning. Then, the actual groceries are supplied by the church who offer a percentage of their own tythes to feed their local community. To add to that, they have increased the size of their kitchen to grow the production of the soup kitchen.
We keep joking that we'll need to make bigger and more pots, but the fact of the matter is that's true, since the size of our soup kitchen's need has doubled in the last 2 weeks.
Now this, I would say was the aim of the soup kitchen, where we have had about 25-30 families coming in on a bi-weekly basis for soup, this last week we had approximately 50. Praise Jesus!
In the soup kitchen we would often find the people who are more rugged, like gang prone, would come in after we've given the word of God and just want to receive soup, but this last week the rugged gang prone came in and sat through the word and prayed with us.
All glory and honour to God who supplies all our needs and will reap the harvest of the seeds sown. May we continue to feed their spirit as long as we have breath in our lungs!
August, the emerging chrysalis becomes the butterfly
This morning I just felt like writing, I didn't even have a topic in mind, I just wanted to open this page and start writing... then I realised, hey, wait a minute, I haven't felt like this in a very long time... this is restoration!
Thank You Lord for restoration, a new dawn a new day! I can't wait to see what You are going to do in this month of August. So many people have prophesied that this is going to be a month where we see our break through in so many areas.
And I believe it's going to be those areas where the little foxes have come in and are taking the little things in our lives and making them a mountain, where they are actually small little things. Small little habits that are taking up time and space in our lives where we should be living free of these hurdles, we should be living free of these traps, but they're actually hurdles and traps we have either allowed or created, and I truly believe the last few months have been a time where we have been throwing off these habits and coming into a space of freedom, freedom in time, freedom in mindsets, freedom in behavioural patterns that have been keeping us back and away from our callings... where now, says the Lord "It's time for the launching!"
Launching into the new, launching into the here and now, launching into what He has planned for us all along...
wait and see what the end of August will bring, because the waiting period is done, the shaping period is done and now it's the caterpillar emerging out of it's cocoon, where the chrysalis is emerging, finding it's new form, shaping and molding and setting into it's new position until it is finally ready to fly... August is our emerging and by the end of this month, why I can't wait to see who will be and how we will be, flying around out there doing the actual things that God has prepared beforehand for us to do...
I'm so excited, I can't wait, if you join on the journey of following God, it's the most exciting journey of a lifetime, that if you let go and let Him direct and angle your life, it will never be the same again and you will discover a life you've never dreamed or imagined possible.
It is true, it is possible and it is out there, you simply need to say, "Yes, God, I accept the adventure of a lifetime, come into my heart, make me clean from every mistake I have ever made, I am Yours, please write my name in the Lamb's book of life to have life eternally, both now and ever after, and I trust You even with this life on earth to make it the best I could ever imagine or dream of. And even when it's not, I choose to trust You!"
He will never leave you nor forsake you, ask His Holy Spirit to come into your heart, change who you are and you will be forever safe, even death can't scare or deter you.
Break through testimonies
Well good morning and good morning!
It's a beautiful thing when we see the goodness of God in the land of the living... this is what we need to testify about, this is what builds faith, this is what brings us to overcoming the enemy! He hates it, God loves it and that's why we should do it, in everyway in everyday possible, we will give glory to God while we still can! and if we have breath, we can!
Reports back from our Scarlet Thread prayer team for this year alone:
We have had friends who were unmarried, getting married
We have had siblings who have had 20year old issues resolved
We have had children lost to the world returning to their grandparents who raised them.
We have had marriages who have had struggles come to fruition and seeing eye to eye with each other again.
We have had ailing parents suddenly admitted to hospital, sent to a step down facility and miraculously sent home well and able to function again.
Isn't God good. Revelation 12:10 says: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
We need to share and share and share about the goodness of God and more than that we need to get over ourselves and move beyond what I want or think is good for me and do what the Lord calls me to without thinking about my life, what I feel like or what suits me right now, move on... or I'll be 'loving my life to the death' what's the point of that... death... rather give up the little that seems like comfort, seems good for now, and you'll gain eternal life and eternal rewards, thank You Jesus!
